Ken Daniels

Ken Daniels is the play-by-play voice of the Detroit Red Wings on FOX Sports Detroit. He received the Ty Tyson Award for Excellence in Sports Broadcasting for work in the sports year 2010-11. Daniels is in his 13th season as the Detroit Red Wings’ television play-by-play announcer. He joined Fox Sports Net and UPN-50 teams from CBC-TV where he covered ‘Hockey Night in Canada.’ He also anchored morning-drive sports on ‘The Fan 590’ for eight years in Toronto. His CBC resume includes a variety of assignments in addition to hockey: auto racing (Formula One & IndyCar), Blue Jays baseball, two Olympic Games which featured Ken calling cycling, baseball, canoeing, kayaking, tennis and judo. Daniels worked Red Wings telecasts with Mickey Redmond, Pat Verbeek and Larry Murphy on Fox Sports Net Detroit. He’s been a member of the D.S.B.A. for many years.
