Bob Wojnowski

Bob ‘Wojo’ Wojnowski has lived in the Detroit area, writing or talking or breathing about sports, almost his entire life. A 1983 University of Michigan graduate, he has written for the Detroit News since 1989, and been a columnist since 1992. He has covered everything from the Olympics to the Super Bowl to the Red Wings’ and Pistons’ championships to all of the Lions’ post-season successes. (OK, it was just one playoff game, but what a game!).

Wojo joined WXYT-FM 97.1 The Ticket in January 2012 with Jamie Samuelson for ‘Jamie & Wojo’, 6-8 p.m. weeknights.  Wojo joined WDFN at its birth in 1994 and became a full-time afternoon co-host with Stoney in 1995. Among Wojo’s on-air staples: Astounding predictions as alter-ego Wojodamus and occasional fits of loud chewing. He juggles the two high-profile jobs while still finding time to do regular TV appearances on Fox 2 in Detroit. He lives in Farmington Hills with a big-screen TV and a leather recliner that’s the envy of the neighborhood.
